This historically accurate watch features a double sunken enamel Ferguson dial with “reverse” numerals that prioritize the minute over the hour. This feature was prominent in American pocket watches used by trainmen in the late 1800s and early 1900s to ensure good visibility of the minute hand and marker from the waist.
Brillier watches are built by a world-class team of watchmakers and technicians in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Each watch was built in a high-end clean room and passed a total of 5 Quality Control checks throughout its production.
Our Americana Chapter II watches come with a Horween Leather Strap. All of our straps and leather pouches are handcrafted in the USA with American Leather.

After spending a long time looking at pilot watches that never quite captured the vintage character I now realize I was looking for, I was very happy to discover this railroad watch. It has exactly the Americana feel I wanted. I originally thought I’d replace the bund strap with a more traditional brown leather strap, but from the moment I opened the box, the heavy leather smell set the tone. I never expected to like the bund strap, but it’s truly perfect for this watch. It gives the whole piece a worn-in, travel-worn character that makes me think of old leather trunks, station platforms, polished rails, and American utility that still manages to be beautiful. The watch itself feels honest and well-made. The proportions, dial, strap, and overall design all work together in a way that feels intentional. It doesn’t look like something pretending to be vintage. It feels like a modern watch with a real connection to that railroad-era Americana. Communication with the makers was excellent as well. They were responsive, easy to work with, and clearly care about the watches they’re making. Overall, this is one of those watches I like more every time I put it on. It has presence, character, and a very specific mood that’s hard to describe but easy to appreciate. A really beautiful watch.
To a Locomotive in Winter, by Walt Whitman
Thee for my recitative,
Thee in the driving storm even as now, the snow, the winter-day declining,
Thee in thy panoply, thy measur’d dual throbbing and thy beat convulsive,
Thy black cylindric body, golden brass, and silvery steel,
Thy ponderous side-bars, parallel and connecting rods, gyrating, shuttling at thy sides,
Thy metrical, now swelling pant and roar, now tapering in the distance,
Thy great protruding head-light fix’d in front,
Thy long, pale, floating vapor-pennants, tinged with delicate purple,
The dense and murky clouds out-belching from thy smoke-stack,
Thy knitted frame, thy springs and valves, the tremulous twinkle of thy wheels,
Thy train of cars behind, obedient, merrily-following,
Through gale or calm, now swift, now slack, yet steadily careering;
Type of the modern, emblem of motion and power, pulse of the continent,
For once come serve the Muse and merge in verse, even as here I see thee,
With storm and buffeting gusts of wind and falling snow,
By day thy warning ringing bell to sound its notes,
By night thy silent signal lamps to swing.
